People working in all public, private, not-for-profit and creative industries with linkages to China, Indonesia, Japan or Korea are invited to apply for the Harmer Scholarships Program. These scholarships are available for language study and must be at least one to two semesters.
Assistance –
- China & Indonesia – up to 50 scholarships per country per year at $10,000 each
- Japan & Korea – up to 30 scholarships per country per year at $15,000 each
The scholarship covers language study related expenses that includes – international air travel to and from the elected country; accommodation and living expenses; compulsory comprehensive medical and travel insurance; tuition and related fees; text books and other study materials; and other study-related out-of-pocket expenses while in the elected country.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and residents of Victoria, (Victorians living, working or studying in China, Indonesia, Japan and Korea may also be considered, however preference will be given to those currently residing in Victoria).
- Applicant must be 21 years old or above to be eligible for the shcolarship.
- Candidates can apply only at one of the nominated institutions.
- Applicant must not be in receipt of any other concurrent grant, funding or scholarship for study in any of the countries.
- Applicant must be keen to become fully immersed into the Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese or Korean culture and way of life.
