IDRC is seeking applications for its 2016 Research Awards.
The Award recipients will undertake a one-year paid program of research on the topic they have submitted, and will receive hands-on experience in research management, grant administration, and the creation, dissemination, and use of knowledge from an international perspective.
Awards and Benefits
- IDRC will offer 10 awards during the competition.
- Awardee will get a salary of one year between CA$39,797 and CA$46,070.
- Awardees will be benefited with contributions to Employment Insurance, Employer Health Tax, Canada Pension Plan, and paid vacation leave.
- Travel and research expenses of up to CA$15,000 will also be supported to the awardees.

- Foundations for Innovation
- Governance and Justice
- Maternal and Child Health
- Networked Economies

Duration
The duration of the program is from January to December 2016 (12 months).
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for the grant, the applicant must be:
- a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, or a citizen of a developing country
- currently enrolled at a recognized university at the master’s or doctoral level OR
- have completed a master’s or doctoral degree at a recognized university.
- The proposed research of the applicant must focus on one or more developing countries.
