The Foundation invites nominations for a Trudeau fellowship to a network of Canadian and foreign institutions and individuals in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Trudeau Fellowship is one of the most prestigious awards in Canada. Aside from it exceptional value of $225 000, the Fellowship offers its recipient complete liberty in the way the funds are allocated towards research: the Fellowship is not linked to a specific project. Trudeau Fellowships are granted to people at mid-career.
The Fellows are researchers or artists who have set themselves apart in the field of social sciences and humanities through their research achievements, creativity and social commitment linked to one or more of the Foundation’s four themes.
Eligibility-
- Candidates must be nominated by a Canadian university or other entity whom the Foundation has invited to submit a nomination.
- Candidates must be active in the social sciences and humanities and must work in an area related to one or more of the Foundation’s four themes.
- Candidates must be recognized for achievements, creativity and engagement in the field of research and creation
Required documents must be attached-
- A letter of nomination signed by the rector of the university that outlines the achievements that make the candidate worthy of receiving a Trudeau fellowship and states the outcomes expected for the candidate’s career or projects
- A full, up-to-date academic resume
- No more than three publications or articles written by the candidate (please do not send books)
- Other publications considered relevant
How to apply?
- Only nominators invited by the Foundation may propose candidates for a Trudeau fellowship. The nomination file maybe submitted electronically but the original signed nomination letter must also be sent by mail. Nomination files may be sent to the address given in the website.
- All nominations are kept on file for three years.
