The Positive Action Canada Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Initiative, a program of Viiv Healthcare Canada is accepting proposals to enhance HIV care, treatment, support and prevention services for Aboriginal people in Canada living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
In line with Viiv Healthcare’s global focus on under-served HIV+ populations, the Positive Action Canada Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Initiative is a multi-year program in support of the community-based response to the epidemic.
The initiative’s vision is to lead an inspired, strong, and effective community-based response to HIV/AIDS, HCV, and related communicable diseases and conditions.
Grant Information
Positive Action Canada Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Initiative Community Grants will provide a total of $100,000 with an individual maximum of $50,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only Canadian not-for-profit non-governmental organizations (NGOs) accountable to their members may apply for grants.
- Organizations submitting proposals must be:
- Aboriginal community-focused and based;
- A member of the Canadian Aborginal AIDS network(CAAN), or work collaboratively in partnership with CAAN or a CAAN member organization.
- Applicant organization must work primilarily in the field of HIV/AIDS and have demonstrated expertise in the mangement of projects with the population to be served, or must partner with organization that has such expertise and is accountable to the population it serves.
