Fellows are invited for 2013-2016 Mandel Postdoctoral Fellowships in Humanities and Jewish Studies by Interdisciplinary Center in Jewish Studies.
Terms of the Fellowship–
- Mandel Scholars will devote their time to research and are not allowed to work anywhere else.
- An office in the Rabin Building for Jewish Studies on Mount Scopus will be provided for research purposes, where Scholars are committed to devote themselves to their research at least four days a week. Scholars will also participate in Scholion’s activities.
- The Fellowship will begin on October 1, 2013 and will end on September 30, 2016. At the end of each academic year (no later than July 15), and in the middle of the second year (January 15), the Scholar will submit an activity report. The reports will focus on the Scholar’s research progress in the period reviewed and will include research goals.
- The Academic Committee is authorized to terminate the fellowship at the end of the first or second year, if the aforementioned terms are not met.
- The Fellowship is subject to the Hebrew University’s postdoctoral regulations.
Each Scholar will receive annually approximately 150,000 NIS in addition to a research grant.
Successful candidates from Israel and abroad will be invited for an interview and will lecture at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on January 3, 2013.
Eligibility–
The Scholarship is intended for scholars who completed their PhDs recently from Israel and abroad, who have shown exceptional excellence, depth, and originality, and whose research may enrich academic and cultural discourse.
