Barbara Wood Memorial Foundation seeking applications for Scholarships in the fields of arts to provide financial assistance to training opportunities for students in New Zealand and the South Pacific region.
The Foundation was established to commemorate the life and work of the late Barbara Wood MBE, the Dominion President of the NZ Federation of Country Women’s Institutes 1970-1974, the South Pacific Area Vice-President of the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) from 1975 – 1977 and the Deputy World President of the same organisation between 1977-1979. Mrs Wood died tragically in the Mt Erebus air disaster.
How to apply?
- This application must be accompanied by-
- An outline of the project for which financial support is required and the benefits to be derived.
- Evidence of acceptance in an NZQA-accredited educational or training course in the year in which applicants are applying.
- A full budget for the total cost of the course.
- The amount of financial contribution which the applicant is prepared to make, and any other financial assistance available.
- A current character reference from a responsible citizen.
- Submit an interim report outlining progress made and a full report n completion of the course.
- All information requested is for the purpose of the Trustees only and will be regarded as Strictly Confidential.
Eligibility & Criteria-
The scholarships are available to tertiary students who were born in the South Pacific region. Students wishing to study in New Zealand or anywhere in the South Pacific are eligible for funds.
