The GLOBSEC is calling applications from exceptional young professionals to participate in the GLOBSEC Young Leaders’ Forum 2015. The aim of the GLOBSEC Young Leaders´ Forum is to give emerging influencers and future decision makers the opportunity to contribute new ideas to the debate on security, foreign policy and economy, improve their policy making skills and engage in networking with their peers and senior policy makers.
The GLOBSEC Young Leaders’ Forum will unite emerging leaders from countries of NATO and beyond, with the vision of creating a vibrant dialogue, building networks, and encouraging future collaboration on issues pertaining to transatlantic relations, EU and world economy issues, but also other pressing global economic and political challenges.
The Slovak Atlantic Commission was established in 1993 by Slovak diplomats and other distinguished persons to support integration ambition of the Slovak Republic. Subsequently, the Slovak Atlantic Commission became a part of the international network of the Atlantic Treaty Associations, first as an observer and associated member. In 2004, the SAC became a full member.
Eligibility Criteria
- Young leaders between the age of 25-35 are eligible.
- Applicants from NATO and Partnerdhip for Peace (PfP) countries (Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Kyrghyz Republic, Malta, The Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan)
- Members of Mediterranean dialogue (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia) are eligible to apply.
- Applicant must have NATO or PfP country citizenship, Mediterranean Dialogue, or partner (Australia, Japan) citizenship.
- Young professionals from the fields of international relations, defence, security, journalism, international business, NGO, and academia are welcome.
- Applicant must have past experience relating to: security or defence policy; democratic transitions; international law; international energy policy; journalism; electoral politics; humanitarian issues; or any other fields of relevance to the transatlantic partnership.
- Applicant must have Working knowledge of English
- Applicant must have willingness to engage in regular online activity Applicant must have willingness to write at least one topical article or blog, where GYLF is mentioned before, during or 14 days after the forum.
- Applicant must have interest in long-term engagement with peers on issues pertaining to transatlantic relations
- Applicants who have previously participated in Bratislava Young Atlanticist Summit 2012, GLOBSEC Young Leaders’ Forum 2013 and 2014 are not eligible to apply.

- Suggestion for the topic for discussion during the GYLF sessions, including its title, short synopsis and three questions for discussion
