European Commission is accepting concept notes from European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) South Partner Countries for Supporting the Southern Neighborhood Partnership cities in the implementation of Sustainable Urban Demonstration Energy Projects (SUDEP). The major aim of the grant program is to enable local authorities in ENPI South partner countries to address local sustainable development challenges related to energy. The actions should target to contribute to the increase in energy efficiency, energy savings and renewable energy sources; the improvement of capacities of local authorities in the sphere of sustainable energy; and the generation of a pool of demonstration actions which can be replicated in the region.
Applicants can request grant within the range € 200,000 to € 1,000,000 which can be maximum 80% of the total eligible cost for the action.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicants must be legal person in non-profit making organizations (local authorities [LAs] including associations of LAs or non-governmental organizations.
- Applicants must be established in one of the ENPI South partner countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia) or in a Member State of the European Union.
- Applicant established in a Member State of the European Union must act with a co-applicant that is a local authority from a ENPI South partner country.
- Applicants must be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Priority will be given to applications whose main applicant is an ENPI South local authority.
