BFI Film Forever is inviting applications for Programming Development Fund. The fund will support programming initiatives of cultural significance, high profile and wide reach, encouraging curatorial ambition, achieving economies of scale and bringing films to audiences across the UK in a fresh and original way. Aim of the funding opportunity is to support adventurous programming initiatives of scale, quality, curatorial ambition, and with wide reach across the UK.
Strands of Funding –
- Strand 1 – to support the development stage of a subsequent main project which represents a significant risk, either in terms of content, audience, or the scale of investment required. Awards range within £5,000-£20,000.
- Strand 2 – to support projects which have been fully developed and are ready for implementation. Awards range within £15,000-£150,000.
- Strand 3 – to support very large-scale projects only. Awards range within £150,000 – £500,000.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Properly constituted organization – Limited liability Company or Partnership registered at Companies House; Community Interest Company registered at Companies House; Charity or trust registered with the Charity Commission; Local authority or statutory body are eligible to apply.
- Applicants and/or their partners should have direct experience of film exhibition and audience development activity within the UK.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate the clear public benefit of the proposed program and it should not result in private gain through profit distribution.
- Applications can be made in respect of programs developed outside of the UK including from countries within the European Union/European Economic Area provided they relate to delivery of programs in the UK and the lead applicant is based in the UK.
- Applications can be made on behalf of multiple partners or consortia provided a lead applicant is identified.
