Department of International Development is currently accepting applications from UK based Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), UK-based non-profit organisations, and Humanitarian relief organisations for implementing poverty reduction projects in developing countries. UK Aid Match will support projects of up to 3 years’ duration.
If your application is successful, DFID will match all eligible donations from the public to your organisation’s appeal, over a specified period of up to 3 months, and up to a maximum of £5 million.
Focus Areas
Climate change, Disabilities, Education, Empowerment and accountability, Girls and women, Health, Livelihoods, Private sector/business, and Water and sanitation.
Eligible countries
UK Aid Match grants will be given to organisations for projects in the following countries:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burma, Congo, Dem. Rep, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Eligibility requirements
Any UK based not-for-profit organisation that works to reduce poverty in developing countries and is planning to run a public appeal to raise at least £100,000 can apply. To be successful, applicants will need to demonstrate that
- they are able to deliver poverty reduction projects which achieve development results representing good value for money
- their appeal communications will provide at least 400,000 opportunities to view
- DFID will consider providing funding to a consortium of not-for-profit organisations.
How to apply
There is a 2 stage application process to apply for the scheme:
- applicants submit a concept note
- applicants successful at the concept note stage will be invited to submit a full application
