The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation is currently inviting applications for the Sloan Research Fellowships in Ocean Sciences from those candidates who are early career faculty at a college, university, or other degree-granting institution in the United States or Canada. The research should be creative; initiative and have potential to become leaders in the scientific community. The Foundation strongly encourages the nomination of qualified women and minority candidates.
Grants available are $55,000 USD for a period of two years.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates for a Sloan Research Fellowship in Ocean Sciences must:
- Hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Ocean Sciences or a related field;
- Hold a tenure track (or equivalent) position at a college, university, or other degree-granting institution in the United States or Canada. Tenure track faculty positions at the candidate’s institution must include a yearly teaching requirement.
- Candidates’ most recent Ph.D. (or equivalent) must have been awarded on or after September 1, 2009.
- Applications of qualified women and minority candidates may strongly encourages by foundation.
