Together Green was founded in 2007. Audubon and Toyota launched Together Green to build the promise of a greener, healthier future through innovation, leadership and volunteerism. Together Green is a conversation organization. It has a motto act today, shape tomorrow and together green truly believes in it. It focuses towards providing the inspiration, knowledge, leadership and opportunities to help people nationwide contribute to a healthier environment.
TogetherGreen is now accepting applications for its 2012 class of Fellows and Innovation Grantees. The goals of this initiative is to foster conservation leadership, achieve conservation results, fo rge partnerships in communities and engage millions of Americans in conservation action.
TogetherGreen Conservation Fellowships invest in individuals who are committed to empower others and to create positive environmental change in their communities and organizations. Fellows will receive a $10,000 grant to conduct a 12-month conservation action project in their community, as well as specialized training and support to help shape and implement their projects. They will also become part of a dynamic alumni network of conservation professionals from across the country.
Together Green Innovation Grants will annually provide essential funding that will enable Audubon groups and others to inspire, equip, and support activities that engage new and diverse audiences in conservation action and create healthier communities. A minimum of 40 projects will receive funding, totaling more than $1 million of support–with grants ranging from $5,000-$80,000. Grants will be reviewed by an expert advisory panel, and the average grant awarded will be around $25,000.
Candidates for the TogetherGreen Fellows program must have at least six years experience in some aspect of the environment, a passion for conservation, the desire to learn and grow, and an interest and ability to reach diverse and previously underrepresented audiences. Someone who has a creative environmental project can also apply for a Together Green Fellowship or Innovation Grant.
The deadline to apply for a TogetherGreen Fellowship is 11:59 p.m. PST on March 5, 2012; for an Innovation Grant the deadline is 11:59 p.m. PDT on April 2, 2012.
Decisions will be announced in May 2012 for Fellows and June 2012 for Grants.
