Briercrest Continuing and Distance Education (CDE) offer two categories of scholarships to our students.
General Guidelines:
· Students must meet all requirements of the CDE program for a minimum of six months to be eligible for this scholarship
· Students are eligible for one CDE scholarship per year
· Scholarships must be used within the calendar year in which they are awarded
· Scholarships are not transferable except among immediate family members
· Scholarships are not redeemable for cash

- College Academic Scholarship
Ministry Participation Scholarship:
Eligibility:
Applicants must be enrolled in a CDE Program (BACS, AACS, College or Seminary Certificate).
Criteria:
· Regular and ongoing involvement in lay or vocational ministry.
· Demonstrated ministry effectiveness.
· Application of learning to ministry context(s).
· Fulfillment of CDE program requirements for a minimum of six months.
Deadlines are December 15th and July 15th of each year.
Selection:
All Ministry Participation Scholarship Forms are evaluated in light of the criteria.
Frequency & Amount:
Four $400 scholarships are awarded each year-two each on January 15th and August 15th. Applications must be submitted by December 15th and July 15th respectively.
Rationale:
To financially aid and encourage students who are committed to ministry.
College Academic Scholarship:
One scholarship is awarded for academic excellence. This scholarship is based on the highest cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) in a given year (September 1st – August 31st).
Eligibility:
All applicants must be enrolled in a CDE Program (BACS, AACS, College or Seminary Certificate) for a minimum of one year, be fulfilling the ongoing requirements of the program, and have a minimum of one course left to take in their program.
Criteria:
· Completion of a minimum of 15 credit hours with Briercrest College and Seminary
· Completion of a minimum of 6 credit hours in the previous academic year (September 1st – August 31st)
· Highest GPA
Application:
Students who meet the criteria above are automatically considered for this scholarship.
Selection:
Annual selection is made by the CDE office based on the criteria outlined.
Frequency & Amount:
One $400 scholarship awarded annually in September.
