Project Impact is a new competition that will provide $100,000, management support and networking opportunities to an early stage nonprofit that is using an innovative model to improve the lives of low-income Chicagoans. Project Impact was launched to create a vibrant environment around social innovation in our region. Chicago-based nonprofits can use this award as a means to accelerate their growth locally, while nonprofits from elsewhere can use Project Impact as a way to launch their presence in Chicago.
Project Impact was founded by A Better Chicago, a venture philanthropy fund devoted to creating opportunity for low-income Chicagoans.
AWARDS-
- $100,000 in funding to launch or expand in the Chicago area
- 12 months of management support provided by A Better Chicago and its partners in areas such as business planning, board development, technology and human capital
- Introductions to Chicago business and civic leaders
- Recognition through A Better Chicago, its partners and media outlets
- Finalists will receive $20,000 each
Eligibility-
- Early childhood development – enable children from low-income families to start kindergarten healthy, ready to learn and at grade level
- K-12 education/youth development – ensure youth from low-income backgrounds are on track to graduate from high school and attain a post-secondary credential
- Workforce development – enable low-income individuals to earn a livable head of household wage and participate sustainably in the labor market
