All eligible applicants are invited to apply for Doris Duke Fellowships for the Promotion of Child Well-Being program which aims to prevent child abuse and neglect. This program is supported by Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. The objective of this program is to identify and develop a new generation of leaders interested in and capable of creating practice and policy initiatives that will enhance child development and improve the nation’s ability to prevent all forms of child maltreatment. Each fellow receives an annual stipend of $25,000 over a two-year term
Fellows are selected from a range of academic disciplines, including-but not limited to – child development, social work, public health, epidemiology, nursing, psychology, education, anthropology, and medicine.
Fellows work on a variety of issues to improve the efficacy of child abuse prevention such as: designing programs that attract and retain the most vulnerable families; creating strategies that better connect public and private efforts; or applying empirical evidence to improve practice and policy.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Fellows can be based at any academic institution in the U.S. and are selected through an open national competition
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents in the U.S.
