This scholarship is offered, funded and administered by The Department of Education-WA. This scholarship is open for applications from eligible applicants from Edith Cowan University students who have enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Education: Residency Mode of Study commencing in 2012.
Residency scholarships are available in a number of teaching areas:
Secondary teachers in:
•Mathematics (major)
•Science (physics and chemistry)
•Design and technology (woodwork, metalwork and automotive)
•Home economics
Primary or secondary teachers in:
•Special needs (education support)
Applicants are responsible for enrolling in to the desired course before a scholarship can be offered. Further information about the Edith Cowan University Graduate Diploma
Payments:
Residency scholarship holders:
•Are guaranteed full-time employment in a rural public school at the start of 2013
•Receive $15,000 (less tax), to support your studies and to help you get started in your career
A scholarship payment is considered taxable income. Please seek advice from the Australian Taxation Office or a financial advisor before applying.

•Studying to become a teacher through the Edith Cowan University Graduate Diploma of Education: Residency Mode of Study in 2012
•Available to teach full-time from the start of the 2013 school year
•available to teach statewide, in a public school
Nationality:
•Australian citizen
•Australian permanent resident
•New Zealand citizen
Method of application for Graduate Diploma of Education – Residency Mode:
•Application for the course is made through ECU
Applicants seeking entry to the residency mode must apply directly to the University by completing and submitting the on-line application and meet the same minimum requirements as those seeking entry to the on-campus mode. Residency applicants will also be required to undertake additional selection activities that include attendance at a group interview and participation in a school-based selection activity.
