The Journalism Center on Children and Families (JCCF) invite established and emerging US-based journalists to get funding for Equal Voice Journalism Fellowships and Scholarship. The program is aimed at increasing the public’s understanding of poverty in the United States.
The fellow journalists will be provide $4,000 reporting stipend and up to $1000 in travel reimbursement.
College-enrolled student journalists will be provided $1000 stipend and $800 for travel.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Professional journalists & student journalists in the US are eligible to apply for project/ideas.
- The proposal story should illustrate how language, culture and race influence public attitudes and policy about poor people.
- There must be an outlet that agrees to publish/spread the journalist’s story when it is done.
Application materials includes – well-crafted essay on project/idea; resume with list of positions, accomplishments and awards; letter of commitment from a published/editor or support letter from campus media; letters of recommendation; and permanent links to work samples/recent content produced.
