King Center Charter School (KCCS) and College Summit with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Facebook, Inc. sponsered The College Knowledge Challenge program to award $2.5 million for Facebook applications that make the college-going process more transparent, collaborative, and easy to navigate for low-income and first generation students. By linking with Facebook, the Challenge seeks to drive creative apps that utilize the unique capabilities of and student interest in the world’s largest social network.The Challenge is open to for-profit and non-profit organizations from any field of expertise. Successful applicants will be granted $50,000 – $100,000 depending on the size and scope of their project.
Eligibility-
The College Knowledge Challenge is open for companies and organizations that are domiciled in the United States and incorporated at the time of entry and have an EIN. The Challenge is not open to single member LLCs or individuals who are not employed by or affiliated with any formal organization.
How to apply?
Just create an account and fill in the application form. An application can be updated up until the deadline or until applicant click Submit. Once applicant click Submit, submission can no longer be changed. Applicants are encouraged to apply before the deadline so that feedback can be sent on proposals.
