National Endowment for the Humanities is inviting eligible institutions and organizations to apply for Challenge Grants that help them secure long-term support for their humanities programs and resources.
Recipients may use the grant amount to establish or enhance endowments or spend-down funds that generate expendable earnings to support and enhance ongoing program activities. This can also be utilized as the capital directly supporting the procurement of long-lasting objects, such as acquisitions for archives and collections, the purchase of equipment, and the construction or renovation of facilities needed for humanities activities.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; special district governments
- Private institutions of higher education; non-profits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; public and state controlled institutions of higher education; state governments; county governments; city or township governments; and native American tribal governments (Federally recognized) are eligible to apply.
