Deadline- 15 may 2013
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is pleased to offer funding for Tuberculosis Outbreak Prevention Feasibility Project. The project aims at making progress toward TB elimination in the United States and to develop a process for intervening with small TB clusters that have a high likelihood of becoming outbreaks, thereby preventing outbreaks from occurring, and determine the feasibility of implementing a national program based on this project.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- This project is dependent on the applicant actually having a at least one TB genotype cluster of 3 cases that meet the criteria for being at high risk of becoming an outbreak during the time frame of the project.
- Awardees must be able to provide short-course regimens (e.g., 3HP) to patients with latent TB infection if it is clinically appropriate. Applicants should describe their current mechanism for providing short-course regimens to patients with latent TB infection, indicate whether this mechanism would be available to patients associated with this project, and commit to providing access to short course regimens for a minimum of 50 patients.
