The Rural Capacity Building for Community Development and Affordable Housing (Rural Capacity Building) program by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is seeking applications from organizations with demonstrated expertise in affordable housing and community development in low-income families and persons and low- and moderate-income families and persons in rural areas.
The funding appropriated for this program is intended to serve high-need rural areas and help rural housing development organizations, community development organizations (CDCs), community housing development organizations (CHDOs), local governments, and Indian tribes obtain financing, training and technical assistance necessary to undertake effective community development activities.
Award Information
- The size of the award is between $500,000 and $2,500,000 per project period.
- 4 awards will be made from the available funds.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education are eligible to apply for the program.
- All applicants must have an active Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number.
