Applications are invited for Bonneville Power Administration Science and Energy Education Grants. This program helps to provide support to non-profit organizations, schools, government organizations and others working in the area of education for K-12 grade students. The goal of this project is to could focus on hydroelectricity, wind and other sources of electric power, methods of conserving electricity, studies of energy and environment, programs on engineering and technology skills relating to energy, and others. The intent of the grants is to support science, technology, engineering and math education with specific emphasis on electric utility issues.
$20,000 is available for grants for projects to be completed in the 2013/2014 school year. BPA anticipates awarding between four and ten grants, ranging from $500 to $5,000 each.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Projects must be carried out in BPA’s service territory (Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and parts of Montana, Nevada, and Wyoming)
- Projects must serve K-12 students
- Funding can be awarded to school districts, government agencies and nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations. Grants cannot be made to individuals.
- Grant applicants will be excluded from consideration if found to be debarred, suspended or otherwise ineligible to receive federal funding.
