The Cooperative Research Program (CRP) is inviting applications to fund projects that seek to improve and strengthen the relationship between fisheries researchers from NMFS, state fishery agencies, and universities and the U.S. fishing industry in the Gulf of Mexico, South Atlantic and Caribbean.
The program addresses the mission “Protect, Restore, and Manage the Use of Coastal and Ocean Resources through an Ecosystem Approach to Management.”
Program Objective
The objective of the CRP is to optimize research and development benefits from U.S. marine fishery resources.
Award Information
The award estimated by NMFS Southeast Fisheries Science Center for the CRP program is $150,000 approximately.

Eligibility Criteria
- Institutions of higher education, nonprofits, commercial organizations, individuals, and state, local governments are eligible to apply for the program.
- Indian tribal government is also eligible to apply for the program.
