The UTAS Scholarships Program offers students with significant financial and academic support to study at the University of Tasmania. Awards are offered in an extensive range of disciplines and selection is based on academic merit or financial need. They are available to students studying at undergraduate, honors, and postgraduate coursework levels.
These scholarships program runs on calendar year basis. Applications for most awards commencing in Semester 1 open at the beginning of August and close strictly on 31st October in the year prior. The exception to these scholarships is for engineering students, which open in May and close 30 June.
There is a very limited round for Semester 2 commencement (mainly for honours students, domestic students travelling overseas, and for the Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships). Applications for these awards open in May and close 30 June. Applications for scholarships commencing in Semester 1, 2012 are now CLOSED.

- Honours: all courses, including Arts, Chemistry, Computing & Information Systems, Cultural Environments & Heritage, Lithuanian Studies, Marine & Antarctic Studies, Tasmanian Devil Disease, Zoology
- Commonwealth Scholarships (for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students only)
- Conservatorium of Music: scholarships in classical guitar, and orchestral string, wind and brass instruments; contemporary music performance; piano trio; string quartet
- D&MV McDonald Scholarship in Music
- Jan Sedivka Scholarship in Music
- Relocation Scholarship in Law
- Overseas Travel: Federation Scholarship in Law, Soren Nielsen Travelling Scholarship in Engineering, Tasmania Overseas Travel Scholarship.
