Open Society Foundations Armenia (OSF-Armenia) along with the Arts and Culture Program of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) announces a call for project proposal for addressing present issues facing civil society in the country by using arts and culture as a means to address significant problems.
The main aim of the effort is to encourage participatory democracy, civic activism and informed decision-making on the part of citizens using contemporary arts and culture as a tool. Projects emphasizing on the promotion of free and fair elections, freedom of assembly and association, freedom of expression, political corruption and the issue of army service, environmental problems and other fundamental rights will be prioritized. The proposed projects may address more than one of the above-mentioned issues and may also focus on relevant social issues not listed above.
Projects highlighting on upcoming elections should be directed primarily toward the education of voters, raising awareness about electoral rights, transparency of the electoral process and the dangers and inadmissibility of election frauds. Applications from political parties, and for projects intended to support a political candidate will not be accepted. The call is open to non-governmental and non-profit organizations, foundations, and non-registered initiatives and activists groups working in the field of arts and culture, as well as organizations operating in the media sector.
The deadline to submit proposals is March 5, 10:00 am.
