Deadline- 15 May 2013
The United States Agency for International Development in Bangladesh (USAID/Bangladesh) is accepting applications for Bengal Tiger Conservation Activity to conserve Bangladesh’s rich biodiversity through a focus on the protection of charismatic wildlife, specifically the Royal Bengal Tiger. The objective of this program is to protect and improve key tiger habitats, focusing primarily on the Sundarbans but potentially including the habitats of other charismatic species. Healthy, improved ecosystems will provide diversified sustainable livelihoods to communities and better shelter Bangladesh’s vulnerable population from tropical cyclones and other negative impacts of climate change. Intact forests and wetlands will also sequester CO2 and other greenhouse gases to mitigate the effects of climate change.
USAID intends to provide approximately $10,800,000 to $12,000,000 in total USAID funding for the life of the activity.
