The Demand Generation Working Group (DGWG) of the United Nations Commission on Life Saving Commodities for Women and Children (UNCoLSC) is accepting applications for small grants to support the development and implementation of demand generation communication strategies in Bangladesh.
The small grants will support the work of relevant stakeholders to develop demand generation communication strategies and implement activities that strengthen demand generation efforts for the 13 prioritized reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) commodities identified by the UNCoLSC.
Two grants of up to US$20,000 per grant will be awarded.
Program Activities
- Develop and implement a demand generation communication strategy using the guidance and tools provided in the I-Kit, with objectives and related activities that aim to increase the demand for and use of one or more of the 13 priority commodities, based on the country’s national RMNCH priorities.
- Strengthen information sharing between NGOs and other implementing partners working on various RMNCH demand generation efforts by contributing to the community of practice and sharing your experience using the I-Kit on the online collaboration space Springboard .
- Develop a case study based on the grantee’s experience in using the I-Kit to develop and implement a demand generation communication strategy. More guidance on the format and content of the case study will be provided after the grant is awarded.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be considered for this funding, an applicant organization must be registered/incorporated as an NGO or nonprofit organization in Bangladesh, local organizations will be prioritized.
- Organizations must provide proof of registration in good standing with the Non-Governmental Organization Affairs Bureau (NGOAB).
- Applicant organizations are strongly encouraged to demonstrate:
- An understanding of the RMNCH commodity and demand generation environment within their country.
- Familiarity with their government’s approved communication and/or demand generation strategies and policies.
- Demand generation experience to improve RMNCH.
- Strong experience and demonstrated ability to work in partnership with other RMNCH-focused organizations – membership/leadership in communication and demand generation networks and alliances is strongly desired.
- Applicant organizations are expected to demonstrate relevant examples of previous work in demand generation for health commodities, as well as successful partnerships and collaborations.
- Existing coalitions and consortiums are encouraged to submit applications. The consortium must identify one lead agency who will apply on behalf of the consortium or coalition partners.
