ANIMA 2013, invites submissions for International Animation Film Festival which seeks to promote cartoons and animated films from all over the world. It also seeks to foster a dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public, and to raise awareness of quality animation among film and television distributors. The Festival is organising an international competition as well as a national competition for films produced in Belgium, both competition are open to all animated films and make no distinction between formats or techniques, regardless of its geographic origin. The festival also nominates its selection of films for the Cartoon d’Or, from the European films that win prizes.
Prize–
There are two prize categories: Jury and Audience Prize.
The Jury Prize-
- the Short Film Prize,
- the Music videos Prize
- the Commercials Prize
- the Student Film Prize, to the makers of the films.
The Audience Prize-
In addition, all films selected for Anima’s international competition for categories 1 and 2 (Short Films previews, Student Films) are also voted on by the audience. All films selected for category 7 ‘The Animation Night’ are also voted on by the audience (The Animation Night Audience Award for Best Short Film). On the basis of the public votes, the festival’s organising committee ranks the films and awards the Audience Prize to the filmmakers of the film which received the highest score in each of the categories.
During the event, the films will be presented.
How to Apply?
- There is no registration fee for films entered for the Festival. A producer or a director wishing to enter a films for selection must provide the Festival with :
- a pre-selection Video-DVD (No data-DVD)
- the fully completed Anima 2013 Entry Form.
- biography and filmography of the director
- a CD-Rom with some photos of the film, or via email photo must be format Jpeg 10×15 cm, Resolution 300 dpi.
- for films that are with dialogues, commentary or subtitled, please send a list of dialogues in French, English or another language of the European Community, as well as a list of subtitles if the film print for the Festival is subtitled.Registration of films is considered definite once the correct registration form has been duly completed and received by the Festival organisers along with the appropriate DVD. Each film must be accompanied by a completed entry form; however, a DVD may contain several films (on condition that all titles are legibly written on the DVD). If a producer / scholl wish to enter more than one film, copies can be made with the common information, only the parts containing the film information shall be filled.
