Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) is inviting applications for AZA Conservation Grants Fund (CGF) 2014. The aim of CGF grants is to serve as seed money for projects that will be completed within 12 months of time period.
Collaborative projects that benefit a large number of animals, institutions, or programs; improve management, welfare, and care of endangered and threatened wildlife in a zoological setting; implement conservation goals are encouraged to apply. CGF grants are awarded in six categories – Animal Health, Animal Welfare, Conservation Education, Field Conservation and/or Reintroduction, Management and/or Breeding, and Research. The average project award is approximately$18,000.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Each Principal Investigator (PI) identified on the application must have an independent AZA Membership (including those employed by an AZA-accredited institution) to be eligible to apply. Others are collaborators and need not be AZA members.
- The roles and qualifications of all collaborators should be described in detail and their CVs to be eligible.
Complete application includes cover sheet, project proposal, budget, curriculum vitae, statement of institutional support forms, permits (if applicable) required to complete the proposed project, proposal resubmission form (if applicable), citations (recommended but not required), and appendices.
Proposal must be submitted via electronic application system and related documents via email before deadline.
