University of Bath invites applicants to apply for Graduate Research Scholarships for International student for which the courses are offered by the School of Management.
This program is full-time 4-year Graduate Research Scholarship, with an annual value of about £18,000, including home tuition fees and maintenance. Applicants must be seeking to earn a PhD on a full-time basis, and will be required both (i) to take taught programmes in research and teaching methods and (ii) to contribute annually up to a maximum of 100 hours of seminar-based teaching and assessment. (Candidates will not be expected to deliver lectures.) Annual continuation of awards will depend on satisfactory performance.
Eligibility–
Applications are welcomed from outstanding graduates who–
- must hold at a minimum a bachelor degree (a First or Upper-second or GPA equivalent)
- Are fluent in English.
- Are strongly committed to, and potentially capable of, high-quality academic research in an area that is consistent with the research expertise of School staff, as well as the ability and desire to develop their teaching skills in this area.
Documents required-
- A single document containing the following and in this order:-
- A statement confirming that you are applying for a Graduate Research Scholarship
- A statement up to 200 words they think they would be able successfully to make a teaching contribution to the School and why they think this is the case.
- A statement up to 200 words of why the applicant wants to become a professional management scholar.
- A statement up to 200 words of which Subject Group of the School applicants wish to make a research contribution and why they think they will succeed in making such a contribution.
- The names of at least two, but preferably three, School of Management faculty members that applicants think might be appropriate doctoral supervisors for their research interests.
- An original preliminary research proposal written by applicants themselves.
- A full academic CV, including all schools, colleges and universities attended, along with grades and other verifiable evidence of academic ability and achievement, plus any working experience plus the full contact details of at least two academic referees who will be prepared to give references at possibly short notice, and a statement of willingness to be interviewed if short-listed.
- Copies of official academic achievements in undergraduate degree classification and master degree award if available, plus copies of official transcripts of all degree subjects taken, proof of English fluency (non-native English speakers only), and GRE, GMAT, GPA scores if available.
