Solidarity with Belarus Information Office is seeking entries for its Belarus in Focus contest. This program is being supported by Press Club Polska. The goal of this program is to encourage journalists (and editors) to pay attention to ongoing events and trends in Belarus – political, economic, social, and cultural.
Submission required-
- Applicants may submit up to 2 articles.
- Co-written articles will be accepted.
- Theyshould have permission from the chief editor of the newspaper/magazine/electronic media that published your article (the online form will ask you to tick a box to confirm this).
- Incomplete entries, or entries on behalf of another person, will not be accepted.
- Any evidence of plagiarism may result in their work being removed from the Competition.
- Languages for audiences outside of Belarus that are read by at least one member of the jury are: Danish, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Polish, and Ukrainian
Eligibility & Criteria-
- The Competition is open to anyone who has published an article about Belarus for media outside of Belarus in 2013.
- There are no restrictions on nationality, citizenship, or place of residence. We particularly encourage Belarusian nationals to enter.
- In ’Belarus in Focus 2013’, there are two categories:
- Professional journalists: A professional journalist is understood as a journalist who has worked for more than 3 years as a journalist, or other professionals who have published for over 3 years in media.
- Beginner journalists: A beginner journalist is understood as a journalist who has worked for less than 3 years as a journalist, or other professionals/students who have published for less than 3 years in media. There is no age bracket.
