The United Nations Forum on Forests is inviting nominations form around the world for Forests Heroes award, Short Film award & Photo award. Eligibility & Criteria for 3 awards is as follows-
- Forest Heroes Award– The Forest Heroes Awards aims to recognize and honor everyday people whose efforts are innovative and inspirational. The Programme provides visibility to enable finalists and semi-finalist to promote and expand the impacts of their work as well as networking and partnerships opportunities for the Heroes to share their knowledge and experience.
Eligibility for Forest Hero award–
- A Forest Hero can be ANYONE – from grassroots initiatives and innovative entrepreneurs, to school teachers or children. If they have made an outstanding commitment to forests, which has effected real change, organization want to know who they are
- UNFF Photo Contest-The UNFF Forest Photo contest invites everyone, in every part of the world, to share photos that visually capture their relationship to forests.
How to enter for UNFF Photo Contest?
- Download and fill out the entry form (pdf)
- Email the entry form and applicant’s Forest photo submission to given email address in website.
- Forests for People- UN International Short Film Contest– Forests for People is a short film contest that invites everyone, in every part of the world, to create and share a personal film about their own relationship to the forest. The more stories that are told, the richer and more diverse our portrait will be. Each new entry opens a unique window on our unique human connections to the forest. Together, they will help everyone see the forests in a compelling new light.
Eligibility-
- The Contest is open to all individuals and groups, regardless of age or location. Employees of the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat and the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival are prohibited from Contest entry.
- Entrants under 18 years of age may participate with the permission of their parents or legal guardians. If the film of an entrant under 18 years of age is chosen as a semi-finalist or finalist, and written parental or guardian permission cannot be provided, the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat has the right to reject the entry.
- Entrants are required to obtain permission from all persons appearing on camera, in person or in voice. If an entrant is chosen as a semi-finalist or finalist, and such written permission cannot be provided, the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat has the right to reject the entry.
