Participants from around the globe are invited to take part in Eighth International Emirates Photography Competition – (EPC) 2013 organized by Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture. This program is being supported by International Federation of Photographic Art, the Photographic Society of America and the United Photographers International. The goal of this program is to develop UAE photography, encouraging and attracting talented artists, and supporting professional photographers, the competition features specialized workshops, exchange meetings and seminars, and is complemented by solo and group exhibitions – in the UAE and abroad.
A grand prize of AED80,000 (US$21,780) will be awarded to a work that presents innovative creative ideas in the main theme “Decisive Moment.” Winners in other categories will receive cash prizes ranging from AED8,000 to 30,000 (US$2,170 to 8,160).
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Entry is open to photographers from around the world, amateur or professional; they may submit their entries individually or as a group.
- If entering as a group, club or photographic society there must be a minimum of 10 participants and the declaration of the group entry must be made when registering.
- Photographers can participate in one, several, or all themes (Main, General, Colour and Monochrome prints).
- Each photographer can submit a maximum of four photographs under each theme. The same photograph cannot be entered into more than one theme.
- Participants have the right to participate with a portfolio only in the Main Theme, provided that such portfolio corresponds to the theme (‘Decisive Moment’), and includes at least six photographs and no more than 10.
