Applications are invited by Barcelona Graduate school of economics for La Caixa-Severo Ochoa International Doctoral Fellowships in Economics. The purpose of this program is to enhance this world-class academic community fostering graduate programs in economics while developing a distinctive and substantial research activity.
Fellowship offers-
The fellowships are financed by “La Caixa” Foundation and will provide doctoral students with funding over a 4 year period-
- Years 1 and 2: 18,069 euros
- Years 3 and 4: 26,700 euros
- 6,400 euros for expenses
Eligibility & Criteria-
- For the duration of the fellowship, the candidate must enroll in one of the two PhD programs in Economics within the Barcelona GSE:
- Graduate Program in Economics, Finance and Management (GPEFM)- (Master in Research – MRes) organized by Universitat Pompeu Fabra jointly with Barcelona GSE
- International Doctorate in Economic Analysis (IDEA)- organized by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona jointly with Barcelona GSE
- Interested candidates who are not already enrolled in GPEFM or IDEA must also apply separately to at least one of the programs in order to be considered for the fellowship. Each program has its own admissions process

- Copies of official transcripts from current and previous undergraduate and graduate institutions
- Statement of purpose (2 pages maximum)
- Other supporting documents, such as GRE and TOEFL scores
