United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is accepting applications from young scientists for the Green Chemistry Research Grants. The major objective of the program is to promote the implementation of innovative research projects in green chemistry by young scientists that respect the 12 principles of green chemistry.
The program reinforces the research capacities of the participating institutes and cooperation between them. It also increases awareness of policy- and decision-makers in governments, science and industry, and the public at large, of the opportunities offered by advances in green chemistry. Maximum grant size is $30,000 and the project must be completed in one year duration.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Young scientists aged 35 years or less with a PhD degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or its allied areas
- Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in chemistry or an interdisciplinary allied area.
- Applicants must have at least 3 (three) publications in recognized scientific journals.
- Applicants must have submitted no more than one project proposal for the call for applications for which he/she is submitting an application.
Applications must be completed in English or French language in typewritten form accompanied with a synopsis of the proposed research project in green chemistry, curriculum vitae, a copy of the candidate’s PhD diploma or diploma of equivalent degree, a letter of approval from the candidate’s home institute, a letter of acceptance from the host institute, and letter of recommendation.
