Applicants from around the world are invited to take part in Greenpeace Innovation Challenge for Sustainable Irrigation Solution for rural India. The theme of this program is “A Watershed Moment in India”.
The goal of this program is to design an innovative renewable energy pump kit which meets the need of millions of small farmers, cutting down irrigation costs and also encouraging the uptake of micro-irrigation methods.
Pumps powered by clean renewable energy, such as solar pumps, could solve both the economic and environmental dilemma: they don’t emit greenhouse gases, and their fuel is free.
Participants will have the opportunity to win gran prize of up to 30,000 Euros (in cash, prizes and contracts).
Eligibility & Criteria-
- designers, tinkerers, inventors, students of all fields may participate
- anyone who is interested and feels they can contribute something useful – from all over the world, to join forces in this challenge
