The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) has announced Canadian Partnerships Small Grants for Innovative Research and Knowledge Sharing. The major purpose of this program is to support research in four broad areas, making knowledge a tool for improving lives across the developing world through the following program areas:
- Agriculture and the Environment
- Global Health Policy
- Social and Economic Policy
- Science and Innovation
The objective of this program is to strengthen the capacity of the Canadian international development and research community to carry out research and knowledge-related activities, with the potential to influence policy and practice, in a collaborative manner across types of institutions and sectors and with LMIC partners.
Funding offered in two ways-
- Support to research, knowledge-building, and knowledge-sharing projects. Budget requests under this category must be between $15,000 and $60,000.
- Support to events and to small dissemination activities and products. Budget requests under this category must be between $1,000 and $15,000.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Local, regional, national, and international organizations incorporated and headquartered in Canada that produce or share knowledge for development. Individuals are not eligible.
- Organizations applying must have one Canadian partner organization and may have others from Canada and/or from one or more developing countries.
