Mongabay.org is inviting applications for Innovation in Tropical Biodiversity Conservation grant program under Special Reporting Initiatives (SRI). The objective of this program is to deal with innovation in tropical biodiversity conservation. Mongabay.org will commit up to $20,000 to fund the top proposal: $15,000 as a stipend and up to $5,000 for reporting and travel costs.
Documents required-
- SRI Proposal
- Resume or CV
- Three letters of recommendation
- Three samples of your previous published work
- Sample pitch to a mainstream media outlet
Applicants application should answer the following questions-
- Where will you focus?
- What questions will you ask?
- How will you structure your work?
- What media will you employ to tell your stories?
- What is your specific proposed timeline? (note: ideally both field work and writing/production would be finished within six months of the application deadline)
- What editors have you worked with in the past?
- What publications have you worked with in the past?
- Where do you plan to pitch your work?
- What resources, contacts, and networks do you plan on using to publish or promote your stories?
