The International Training Programme on Integrated Sustainable Coastal Development (ISCD), in cooperation with SIDA aims at contributing to poverty alleviation, by supporting capacity building for an Integrated Sustainable Coastal Development. The applications are now open for this program which is to be held in Sweden and Tanzania from August 2015 till December 2015.
SIDA covers the candidate’s participation fee and accommodation fee along with travel expenses. A maximum f 25 applicants are admitted every year. This program strives to achieve an active and strong link to the participant’s professional area and also to strengthen the professional exchange between participants, enriching the programme through their different professional and geographical backgrounds.
Course Highlights
- Increased understanding of the importance and benefits of an integrated sustainable coastal planning management for socioeconomic development.
- Increased knowledge about the planning process for an integrated sustainable coastal development.
- Increased knowledge about experiences, methods and tools for organizational change.
- Extended international and national networks for working with coastal development.
Eligibility Criteria
- Invited countries are Bangladesh, Cambodia, Kenya, Liberia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Tanzania and Vietnam
- The programme is intended for key persons in organizations with a clear role in integrated coastal development e.g. central institutions, local authorities, private companies or NGOs.
Application process
- Application is to be made on the special form attached and include a recent photograph and all required information and documents.
- The applicant must be nominated by her/his organization or institution.
- As appropriate the application is to be approved by the official nominating authority in the country.
- The application is to be submitted to the nearest Swedish Embassy/Consulate. If there is no Swedish Embassy/Consulate in the applicant’s country, the application should be sent directly to the Programme Secretariat.
