Applications are invited for Postgraduate research project on Comparative Statecraft and Constitutional Thought at University of Aberdeen. The subject areas for this research programme will be- Anthropology, History, Law, Politics & International Relations, Religious Studies.
The Comparative Statecraft and Constitutional Thought scheme seeks to support research that looks at the comparative development of non-Western constitutional thought and statecraft through a framework that is both (i) an analysis of such developments in positive terms whose bases of legitimacy are understood in their own conceptual and cultural terms, and (ii) brought together under a single comparative frame, initially augmented by a single seminar series so that conclusions and insights can be shared across cultural, historical and religious categories and drawing together the considerable supervisorial expertise in this area that Aberdeen has accumulated.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Any nationality applicant can apply for this project.
- Complete Application forms must consist of-
- A completed Postgraduate Application Form
- Academic transcripts and/or degree certificate(s) to date
- For international applicants, proof of proficiency in English (English Language Requirements)
- Academic References. For Research Programmes (PhD, MPhil etc) two confidential references in sealed envelopes, signed by the referee across the seal, are required. For Taught Programmes (MBA, MSc, MLitt etc) graduates from a UK institution are not required to supply references. Applicants with a first degree from outwith the UK are required to submit one reference only.
- Applications for PhD and Masters by Research programmes require a Research Proposal to be submitted with the application. Some departments require an extended Research Profile and applicants should refer to individual school websites for details before submitting an application
