Knight-Wallace Fellowship program for the year 2014 is now open for journalists throughout the globe to apply for a one-year opportunity for an academic award. The main purpose of Kinght-Wallace fellowship is to offer a ground to journalists around the globe to expand their perspectives, intellectual growth and personal transformation.
Applicant must apply to the fellowship through online submission method or mail to specified address. The application form along with all required documents attached on it to reach before deadline.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicants must be full-time journalists, with a minimum five years professional experience, whose work appears regularly as an employee or freelancer. Print, broadcast, photo, documentary and Internet journalists are eligible.
- There are no academic prerequisites.
- Employee applicants must obtain a leave of absence from September 1 through April and return to their place of employment after completion of the fellowship program (where applicable).
- Once offered the fellowship, all fellows must agree not to publish or broadcast during the fellowship, maintain Ann Arbor residency and attend all program seminars and meetings.
Related documents to be attached along the application form are – letters of reference (four in total – one professional from past or present supervisor or colleague, one personal from a friend who knows the applicant personally and is familiar with her/his professional background too, one confidential letter from applicant’s immediate supervisor and one letter from employer. Freelance journalists should submit three professional letters of reference and one personal letter), projected study plan, intellectual autobiography, work samples (work samples in other languages must be accompanied with English translations).
