Department of the History of Art and Film announces 2013 Fee-Waiver PhD Studentship in Art History and Film at University of Leicester in UK.
The studentship will pay UK/EU tuition fees for three years and is open to suitable UK/EU and international (i.e., non-EU) applicants. Applicants must ensure that their proposed area of research is compatible with the research interests of at least one member of our academic staff.
The studentship is open to applicants wishing to pursue doctoral research in any area of art history and film that can be supervised by the Department’s academic staff, which includes-
- Renaissance and Baroque Art, Architecture, and Sculpture
- Medieval and Early Modern Art, Architecture, and Sculpture
- 20th Centure Architecture and Town Planning
- Aesthetics and Art Theory
- Contemporary Art
- Hollywood Cinema, World Cinema, British Cinema
- Genre and Sci-Fi Cinema and Television
Applicants must ensure that their proposed area of research is compatible with the research interests of at least one member of academic staff.
Eligibility–
- Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline and meet the University’s standard English language entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree with merit or distinction or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before October 2013.
- This studentship is open to suitable UK/EU and International (i.e., outside the EU) applicants. Please note though that the award covers tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only. International applicants (and those not eligible to pay UK/EU tuition fees) must demonstrate at the time of their application that they can fund the difference in tuition fee rates.
