Lockheed Martin Corporation invites application for Global Innovation Contest to create a global forum for interested participants to share ideas on how innovation can enable a more secure future for the planet. Participants are invited to submit their thoughts on a range of topics facing the world community, including the need for sustainable energy, cyber security, and health care.
Prizes
- First Place Prize: $25,000 and an incubation contract with University of Maryland’s MTech to mature the proposal valued at $10,000;
- Second Place Prize: $10,000; and
- Third Place Prizes: $5,000.
The total estimated retail value of all prizes is approximately $60,000. No cash alternative to the incubation contract will be offered. Winners may not exchange the incubation contract for cash or any other merchandise or services. We reserve the right to substitute a prize (or any element of a prize) for an alternative one of the same or higher value.
The prize is personal to the individual or entity entering the Challenge. If selected as a winner, you may not designate someone else as the winner or to receive the prize in your place.
If applicant are selected as a potential winner of this Challenge and applicant are unwilling or unable to accept your prize, company will award it to an alternate winner selected by the judges.
ELIGIBILITY–
- The Challenge is open to individuals aged 18 or over and validly formed legal entities.
- are not government employees or, in the case of a validly formed legal entity, not owned by government employees (excluding employees and entities of public universities permitted by law to participate in this challenge);
- are not Lockheed Martin employees or employees of any Lockheed Martin parent, subsidiary or group company;
- are not involved in any part of the administration and execution of this Challenge;
- do not appear on the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at the United States Department of the Treasury and who are not citizens or entities of a country against which OFAC currently administers and enforces economic sanctions; and
- are not an immediate family (parent, sibling, spouse, child) or household member of-
- a Lockheed Martin employee
- an employee of a Lockheed Martin subsidiary or group company
- a person involved in any part of the administration and execution of this Challenge.
Procedure for Entries-
- Entry must be written in the English language.
- Each Entry must describe in reasonable detail a technology that, in applicant good faith opinion, is innovative and original. Please indicate whether applicant have filed a patent application or received a patent on any part of their Entry
- Applicant must describe the value proposition of the technology discussed in their entry
- Applicant must provide information about the individual innovators and/or business team, as appropriate, that created the technology discussed in the entry
- Each Entry must be applicant’s own original work
- Each Entry cannot have been selected as a winner in any other challenge, competition or prize draw
- Applicant must have obtained any and all third party consents, approvals or licenses required for applicant to submit their entry
- Each entry must not contain confidential information or trade secrets (yours or someone else’s)
- Each Entry must not otherwise violate the rights of any other person or company by using their trademarks, logos, names or images without their express written consent.
Applicant shall not upload any file, document or image that-
- contains malicious code, viruses, corrupted files or other similar harmful programs or material that may damage the operation of the Lockheed Martin’s or any other party’s computer
- violates the legal rights (such as rights of privacy or intellectual property rights where applicable) of another
- falsifies the origin or source of any content or other material
- may be considered likely to provoke, offend, threaten, defame or harass others
- contains libellous, abusive, racist, sexist, homophobic, ageist, sexually explicit, obscene or otherwise vulgar or in bad taste material.
