Netherlands Fellowship Program is accepting fellowship applications for training on ‘Organized Farmers as Partners in Agribusiness : Optimizing the Performance of Producers’ Organizations – Improving Farmers’ Performance and Business Relations’ being held from 15 to 26 September 2014. Major objective of the fellowship program is to help the stakeholders learn about farmer professionalization and empowerment, and the collective action of farmers business organizations with a realization that farmers are the small and middle enterprises.
Training course Organized Farmers as Partners in Agribusiness organized by Wageningen UR Center for Development Innovation, the Netherlands, aims to make the stakeholders familiar with state-of-the-art thinking about rural innovation, farmer entrepreneurship and farmer-inclusive value chain development and gain knowledge on how the key challenges faced by farmers can be reviewed and options for collective changes can be identified. The course will also make participants able to analyze farmers relations with sourcing companies, banks and MFI’s, and other stakeholders, and know about options to improve the relations.
NFP Fellowship covers travel, accommodation, tuition fee and insurance.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Wageningen UR Center for Development Innovation training courses requires the applicant to have BSc or equivalent (by study or work) with minimum three years of work experience. Participants must be fluent in English language.
- Professionals interested in the promotion of farmer-included agribusiness, professionals from farmers’ organizations, governmental organizations, private sector, civil society organizations, universities, research and extension are eligible to apply.
- To be eligible for NFP Fellowship, applicants must be government or non-government professionals who are the nationals of and work and live in NFP Country (in the regions the training course is accepting applications from) with at least three years experience and is nominated by her/his employer with clear need for training within the context of organization.
Application Procedure –
- Applicants must register for short-course at Center for Development Innovation (CDI).
- Nuffic sends an admission letter with instructions on how to apply for a NFP fellowship at Nuffic once the application for short course is received at CDI.
- Eligible candidates can apply for NFP through Nuffic system, Scholarship Online (SOL).
