Netherlands Fellowship Program (NFP) is accepting applications for Wageningen UR Center for Development Innovation Training course ‘Governance of Landscapes, Forest and People’ 2014. The major objective of the fellowship program is to help increase the number along with competencies of skilled staffs in government and non-government organizations working for the people in the sector of natural resources management, forestry, agriculture, rural development, rural livelihoods, sustainable development or other relevant areas. This fellowship includes living cost, tuition fees, visas, travel & insurance of fellowship holders as specified in NFP Rules and Regulations.
Training course Governance of landscapes, forests and people starting from 15th to 26th September 2014 aims to qualify participants on critically examining landscape dynamics at various levels and scales along with understanding the implications of up-scaling participation to work with diverse stakeholder groups at landscape level. It challenges the professionals on the field of forest and nature management to adopt an integrative perspective that bounds them to look beyond forest, take into consideration cross – sectorial concerns and work in multidisciplinary teams. The course deals on institutional development at landscape level including multi-stake holder platforms and networks, and financial support mechanisms to guide landscape dynamics on the ground. After completing the course, the participants become able to identify what institutional change is needed to enhance multi-stakeholder governance processes at landscape level and also oneself become the manager, practitioner or facilitator of landscape governance processes. Basic theme of the course is to provide a broader insight of governance, not limiting to the government alone but enhancing its dynamics as a shared responsibility of civil society, private sectors and the government bodies. Public-private decision making at landscape level is must which can be tactfully obtained by the participation of skilled professionals.

Eligibility Criteria –
- Government or non-government professionals who are the nationals of and work and live in NFP Country with at least three years experience and is nominated by her/his employer with clear need for training within the context of organization.
- Candidates should have applied for Wageningen UR Center for Development Innovation training course Governance of Landscapes, Forests and People 2014.
