GlobalGiving is accepting nominations of organizations for the Open Challenge, a grand opportunity to raise funds online for the projects they conduct. GlobalGiving Community offers the organizations a platform to leverage with its donor networks, technology, and partner relationships.
Through the Challenge, projects have the opportunity to earn an ongoing spot on the GlobalGiving website if they can mobilize supporters to raise US $5,000 from at least 40 unique donors during this time period.
Prizes –
- Bonus Grants – Top 3 (three) Projects that Raise the Most Funds receive Supplementary Cash Bonuses of $3,000, $2,000 & $1,000 respectively.
- Project with the greatest number of Unique Donors will be awarded a bonus of $2,000
- Bonus Day Surprise – For at least one day during the Challenge all donations of $25 or more (up to $1000 each) will be matched at 15% till the total matching grant of $5000 on each day is used up. Donation below $25 will count on the main leaderboard towards the volume and unique donor goal but will not be matched or count for the unique donor bonus on Bonus Day. The matching funds will not count towards to the $5000 threshold. Also, the project with the most unique donors at 11:59pm EST on Bonus Day will receive an additional $500 prize. the project with the most funds raised on Bonus Day will also receive a $500 prize.

Eligibility Criteria –
- The organization is a registered non-profit organization in the US (i.e. 501(c)3) or its home country;
- The organization is committed to updating donors at least every three months on the progress of the project it lists;
- The organization’s staff must have the ability to communicate with GlobalGiving in English, including translating documents;
- The organization does not discriminate in selecting its beneficiaries;
- The organization must satisfy GlobalGiving’s application requirements;
- The organization acknowledges that listing its project on the GlobalGiving website is not guaranteed; in order to qualify for an ongoing spot on the GlobalGiving website, the organization must meet a donation threshold, i.e. generating donations from a certain number of donors and raising a certain amount of donations within a defined time period.
- To be considered for the Open Challenge, the nomination form must be filled and submitted to the GlobalGiving team to verify their credentials by deadline.
- Nominations can be made for own organization or for organization an individual is familiar with.
