The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) is calling applications for the OWSD postgraduate fellowship 2015 for Women Scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) at Centres of Excellence in the South.
OWSD fellowships cover all the costs related to scientific training leading to a doctorate degree while at a host institute. The fellowship in general aims to provide mobility.
About OWSD
OWSD is the first international forum to unite eminent women scientists from the developing and developed worlds with the objective of strengthening their role in the development process and promoting their representation in scientific and technological leadership.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to qualified women science graduates from eligible countries.
- Eligible scientific fields include: Agricultural Sciences; Structural, Cell and Molecular Biology; Biological Systems and Organisms; Medical and Health Sciences; Neurosciences; Chemical Sciences; Engineering Sciences; Information Technology; Astronomy, Space and Earth Sciences; Mathematical Sciences; Physics.
- Applications from students in the Basic (or ‘pure’) Sciences, such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are encouraged.
