All eligible applicants are invited to submit applications for Psychology/Psychopharmacology Scholarship program offered by University of West of England. The proposed programme of work will include both consumption surveys and experiments assessing cognitive effects and physical/sports performance of caffeine and caffeinated beverages.
Benefits-
- The scholarship is available from 1 January 2014 and consists of an annual maintenance bursary of £15,726, subject to satisfactory progress, for up to three years.
- In addition, full-time tuition fees will be covered for three years (Home/EU rates only). Overseas applicants will be required to cover the difference between the Home/EU and the overseas tuition fee rates (approximately £7,565 per annum).
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Applicants should have, or expect to obtain, a first class or good 2:1 honours degree, or a distinction or high merit at MSc level (or international equivalent) in a relevant area of psychology or pharmacology, sports science or human biology.
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate an interest in experimental psychology and psychopharmacology or sports science and human biology, and should have excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- The candidate should understand that the PhD programme will include interdisciplinary aspects (psychopharmacology, sports performance) and will require the ability to develop knowledge and practical skills in a number of key areas and apply them within the context of the research.
