University of Milan is seeking applications for Inter-University Research Doctorate in Economic Sociology and Labour Studies (PhD). The goal of this program is to train highly skilled doctors with competence in various disciplines, which is fundamental for the study and regulation of economic and labor phenomenon. Training is strongly inter-disciplinary and the key role of economic sociology is integrated with studies on labor rights, economic-statistical and organizational-business disciplines, and of science of behavior. This inter and multi-disciplinary competence is necessary in order to create an innovative way to tackle the role of social and institutional factors in the analysis and regulation of economic phenomena and of work in a complex and changing society.

- abstract of the applicant’s dissertation written in English
- degree certificate in Italian or English which indicates all the exams which have been passed and the final grade (self-certification for Italian citizens)
- CV with a description of any professional experience and other qualifications the applicant may have
- research project, drafted in English

Eligibility & Criteria-
- In order to apply for a place on the above-mentioned PhD program, students must possess a “magistrale” degree (second-level degree), an equivalent qualification, or an equivalent degree (Master’s Degree) from a foreign university.
- The suitability of the foreign academic qualifications in terms of content will be appraised by the Faculty Committee specially constituted for admission to the PhD course in compliance with the regulation in force in Italy and in the country where the academic title had been issued, and the international treaties and agreements pertaining to the recognition of titles in order to continue one’s studies.
- The admission examination is also open to applicants who will obtain their second-level degree by the date of the first meeting of the Faculty Committee, during which the Commission will assess the academic titles (see calendar in the annexed table).
