Saint Louis University is accepting proposals from philosophers and theologians for “The Philosophy and Theology of Intellectual Humility” project. This program is supported by The John Templeton Foundation. This program focuses to support a maximum of 16 one-year research fellowships on the philosophy and theology of intellectual humility, totaling $1.5 million in awards.
Documents Required-
- Complete curriculum vitae for the PI and for all major team members (if applicable).
- A letter of intent that includes the central questions of the project, the background and significance of the questions, the way in which the project addresses questions relevant to this RFP, and a summary of the main idea or argument. The letter should not exceed 1,500 words (references do not have to be counted in this total).
- The amount of funding requested (one sentence is fine for this). No budget narrative or justification is needed at this stage. The amount can be revised, within a reasonable range, at the full proposal stage.
Eligibility & Criteria-
The PI must have a Ph.D. and be in or contracted to a faculty position at an accredited college or university before December 2013 (exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis). In addition to applicants from the US, scholars from foreign countries are welcome to apply.
